An initiative under ease of doing business, online sale of timber from Government Saw Mill, Chatham.
The Government Saw Mill, Chatham under Department of Environment and Forests was established in the Year 1883 to cater the timber requirement of Islands's inhabitants and Government Departments for their developmental works. It is one of the largest saw mills in the South East Asia, and has supplied timber to the worldforces during World War II.
Following category of timber species are sawn and disposed of from Chatham Saw Mill.

The sale of timber in Chatham Saw Mill is regulated by considering the public demand and supply of timber to the mill, accordingly the sawn timber issued to the indenters is fixed as below:

Note : An applicant is allowed to purchase maximum of 2 cbm in cat I (A) and II (A) sawn timber once in two years only, further an indenter is allowed to draw short length timber (less than 1m) in any of the category up to 1cbm. Govt Contractors can obtain 1 cbm per indent at a time, but can place multiple indents in a year as per their duly certified job order.
The incidental sizes of sawn timber are also opened for public, the quantity allowed per indent in each category is as follows.
